Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale.

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship. . . .
In all honesty, the ship (ferry) I took over here was not so tiny. It carried like 8 mack trucks and 10 or so cars. The trucks were a mix: Budweiser, Recycling, Food Services and some others. The journey took longer than expected with a 2 hour bus ride from Seattle to the Anacortes ferry landing, then another 2 hours on ferry. I passed out once I hit my friend’s house.
Had some fresh prawns, homemade tea, and leeks from a friend’s garden for dinner. This morning we ate some eggs from a neighbor with a baby greens salad. Yum. Green Landscapes. Hitchhiking. Food. Farming. Lots of things to explore. My mind is buzzing with inspiration right now. I cannot wait to start editing and uploading videos for you all. I will be settled on Orcas Farm on Thursday and can hopefully get a good routine and work flow down. My friend got me some gum boots. They even have laces at the top! Stay tuned for a picture. A pair of overalls is all I need to really be a farmer now! And maybe a pitch fork? Yea. Definitely a pitch fork. OR! A yellow bikini like MaryAnn. I’ll go down to The Exchange and see if I can pick me up one of those ASAP.
. . .so join us here each week, my friend,
you’re sure to get a smile,
from seven stranded castaways,
Here on Gilligan’s Isle!

A pitchfork? Maybe, maybe. But until you graduate to pitchfork status (I am sure like everything else there is some formal chain of command) perhaps you can work on your “Yeeep.” I’m pretty sure it’s the only language you need in “farmland”. OH! And work on your leaning. You got this, (imagine) leaning on a fence post, long strand of straw in your mouth and someone says, “Is this the ______ ”. Without looking up you reply with a long, unenthusiastic- “Yeeeeeep.” in the deepest bass you have, feel free to also spit at this point.
This is your first farmer assignment to see if you are legit. I WILL be checking in for process. Glad you arrived safely, planes, ferries, automobiles – oh my! Be good girl.
p.s. – Hitchhiking? How very ‘American Dream’ of you – art imitating life? I’ll keep my fingers crossed you don’t run into any weirdos. I mean less we forget- blond, bright-blue eyes, thin frame… lets hope you don’t end up in a dirt hole somewhere rubbing lotion on yourself.

And a pair of green horns to match it
! The green devil. Ha ha. I like it. A sinister plot to green the planet, one mischievous little organic farm at a time.
